Developed the strategy that brought NetApp their #1 FORTUNE “100 Best Companies To Work For” ranking in 2009, as well as over 90 "Top 10" Great Place to Work rankings around the globe at NetApp and Cadence.I was brought in to Cadence to work with the CEO and head of HR to lead a culture and brand transformation that took the company from being seen as a "dusty old brand" to being an employer of choice with a strong company culture. As the leader of Culture & Talent at Cadence, I drive talent acquisition, diversity and inclusion, corporate giving, employee branding, employee engagement, HR communications, university relations and the academic network, and learning and development for over 9500 employees globally. I have led strategic corporate communications functions including HR internal communications, executive and programmatic communications, M&A, social media and crisis communications. I have met with hundreds of leaders from around the globe to share best practices on culture and building great workplaces. Regarded as a thought leader in the company culture and "great place to work" fields. I am also an experienced conference speaker and media interviewer, providing expertise in interviews, videos and articles with CBS, NBC, CNN Money, FORTUNE and various business journal and publications. I believe that employee engagement is inextricably linked to trust and open, compelling communications and that employee engagement is not a nice-to-have, but is the key ingredient to creating a great company and a high-performance culture. My background includes over 17 years in HR and 20 years of high-tech marketing and communications experience in start-up and enterprise business environments. Former roles include senior director and management-level marketing and communications for companies and clients that include NetApp, Symantec, KLA Tencor, Apple, Pronto Networks, eFinance, FST, Auspex Systems, and Centigram Communications. Prior to my role at NetApp, I ran my own communications consulting firm for several years. I have a J.D. from Santa Clara University School of Law and a B.A. in Sociology from U.C. Santa Cruz.
