My passion for nutrition was ignited when I began volunteering at a local community garden. Little did I know that this hobby would inspire my career pursuit and facilitate the building of many meaningful relationships. This experience taught me: 1. Even experienced gardeners are still learning new information every season. I believe in a lifelong, continual learning process. I love to learn and feel challenged in my work.2. There is no greater reward to me than to inspire growth and be a part of positive change. My passion is to educate people to make the best food choices to live a healthful life. 3. Building strong relationships requires trust and respect. It is central for me as a volunteer, team member, and practitioner to build healthy and sustaining relationships. 4. Environmental health and human health and wellness are interconnected. I love to help others grow nutrient-dense foods using sustainable food practices.5. Gardening is truly an art form, but it requires both creativity and logistical skills. In my work, I am organized, detail-oriented, but I also enjoy the freedom to create and design.
