I provide advanced subject matter expertise and primary supervision of the DORS (Maryland Division of Rehabilitation Services) employment program and serve as the main contact for DORS. In this position, I act as a liaison between the JSSA Employment Services Department and DORS to handle any issues that arise in a professional and timely manner, while ensuring that staff are following DORS guidelines with regards to services provided, reporting, and billing. I attend regular meetings with DORS counselors and DORS leadership to ensure the department stays up to date on any procedural or policy changes. I also provide individualized job development and placement services, on-the job training (job coaching) and drop-in employment support services to my assigned caseload. I assure that activities are responsive to employment outcome goals established by the individual and their team, while playing an integral role in assisting said individuals with disabilities to successfully maintain community placement. These services involve supporting and facilitating productivity and reinforcement of workplace behaviors, social integration, working with Transitioning Youth, and building relationships with community stakeholders.
