Mackenzie Health (CVH) Mental Health Inpatient Unit is a 32 bed unit with four specialized emergency psychiatric beds to care for adults, aged 18 and older who are dealing with an acute mental illness requiring treatment and stabilization. With our emphasis on recovery and using the patient experience as our focus, we strive to ensure high quality care that is patient driven and has clinical value.

Women's Inpatient Unit: Staff NurseThe Women's Inpatient Unit is an acute care short-stay 20-bed inpatient unit for women with severe mental illness or mood and anxiety disorders who may have experienced trauma (childhood sexual, physical and emotional abuse and/or sexual or physical assault in adulthood) and /or addiction. Individualized treatment includes assessment, diagnostic clarification, stabilization, focused treatment interventions and facilitation of community linkages.Additional Roles:HIMSS (Healthcare Information and Management System Society)- AmbassadorTIDES/ PMAB (Prevention and Management of Aggressive Behavior) - FacilitatorNursing Practice Council RepresentativeDBT and Inpatient group facilitator RAI team support/ super user

• Taught TIDES – Trauma Informed De-escalation for Safety and Self Protection program to CAMH staff throughout the organization• Created, facilitated and debriefed simulation activities that support the principles of trauma-informed services, empathetic communications, de-escalation, and crisis prevention• Trained, educated and conducted needs analysis through client and staff consultations, leading to curriculum tailored to meet learning goals

The inpatient adult mental health service is a short-term treatment service for patients who are in acute emotional distress and in need of immediate hospitalization. The service provides assessment, treatment/intervention and discharge planning to stabilize those experiencing

Provided clinical care services for seniors, adults and children, ranging from routine care to more complex medical needs at home, clinics, shelters and drop-in centres. Services provided as follows but not limited to. Administering medications, medication reviews Diabetes education and management Foot care Immunization programs (including flu shots) Pain and symptom management Wound and ostomy care
