With a passion for advocacy and working within an anti-oppressive lens, I aspire to work with youth and women experiencing mental health, homelessness, family conflict and more. Previous placements and employment opportunities have uncovered my dedication to child and person-centred advocacy while igniting my passion for mental health advocacy and clinical counselling. After graduating with a Bachelor of Social Work and a minor in Psychology I am currently looking for ways in which I can become involved on a more personal level with youth and the issues facing them today in the GTA while continuing my education and personal development. For two years I sat as a co-chair to the Ryerson Social Work Students' Union and helped connect Social Work students to faculty, staff and other programs on campus. This is where my passion for advocacy and connectivity began. During my fourth and final year at Ryerson, I sat on the Ryerson Students' Union again in a position of advocacy as a board director representative for the Faculty of Community Services. For now, I am looking for ways in which I can lend my education and skill set to organizations that not only connect our communities but advocate for them where possible. I am continuously reading and learning about Madness, addiction, disability, youth issues, women's issues and issues of violence against women. Always interested in dialogue and creative projects.
