Donor And Community Engagement Specialist
Development Coordinator
Development Coordinator
In this role, I was a supporting member of the fast-paced development office at North Shore Medical Center. I coordinated mailings, logistics of events, including the North Shore Cancer WALK, processed invoices and payroll. In addition, I managed the Senior Vice President of Development's calendar as well as administrative projects. Through all of those projects, I was a contributing member in fundraising events and helped the office reach their fundraising goals each year.
Guest Experience Representative
This position is all about the visitors and how their experience is at the Peabody Essex Museum. I was one of the first people they saw when they walked into the museum, and I worked hard to make sure that they are welcomed and have a great experience at the museum. It involved tailoring their experience by recommending tours in the museum, exhibitions to see and building that relationship over the course of their visit at the museum. In addition, I have partnered with the education department to work on improving our accessibility offerings through education of the staff on different disabilities, reviewing the building's access and advising on issues relating to deaf/Hard of hearing visitors.
Interpretation Intern
As part of this role, I assisted the head of the educational exhibition with research, projects and educational programs. The project I worked was the "Expanding Abstraction" exhibition opened in April 2017. As part of doing research on educational activities for visitors, I created a component of the Process gallery that focused on tactile objects that artists work with and providing the materials for visitors to interact with. It also included a map of the outdoor sculpture park as a way to encourage visitors to go outside and see how common objects are used in many of the sculptures.
Visitor Services Assistant
The primary function of the position was to welcome visitors and sell admission tickets to the museum. It was next to the retail gift shop, so I also assisted with sales in the shop and recommendations of any retail items for gifts. I worked in the stockroom as well, processing orders and stocked the store for retail. I temporarily worked in the marketing department doing special projects such as working on the logistics of their "Find the Golden Robot" social media contest which ran in the summer of 2015, and organized followers in Hootsuite and Klout. I also updated guidebook listings related to the museum and ensured that current information was being provided about prices and hours.
Explorer
The explorer's responsibilities included interacting with visitors and welcoming them to the museum, assisting them with the interactive components of the exhibitions, and maintaining a clean and safe environment for them. In addition, I assisted with any programs that occurred at the museum, such as storytime and after hour programs, specifically "Especially for Me!" programs.
Visitor Services Representative
My main responsibility was to work at the front desk selling tickets, memberships and merchandises from the gift shop. As part of the position, I represented the museum and provided knowledge of Clyfford Still and his life to the public as they came in.
Library Materials Handler
My primary responsibilities was to check in books, check for damages, run circulation reports, organize and shelve books. I was involved with the summer programs, specifically designed an "I Spy" display case for the children's section and going to community events promoting the services of the library.
Reference/Archives Intern
I worked in the research room on numerous projects, specifically on organizing papers in a specific collection and making it easier for researchers to utilize. I also sent out interlibrary loans daily and researched answers to many questions that we received via email or in-person. At one point, I helped train the new interns on the daily tasks such as ILL, how to answer reference questions, stacks run, and learning the system of archives.
Food Worker
I ran the food from the kitchen to the line, serving customers as they came in.
Museum Intern
There were two parts to my job, the first was to oversee the library collections and the other was to help with the grant-making process. In the library, I was responsible for adding books to the collections and finding ways to improve the place before opening to the public. In the grant-making process, I helped gather information about different grants and companies. I also had to help maintain the membership database we have online.
Processing Intern
I worked as a processor, where I helped organize the various collections in the building. The process was to organize the different pieces in a way that it could be accessed in the future and put that information into an online database. I also helped out with the education program, and with some genealogy research.
Page
My primary duties was to organize the books as they are returned and shelf them away for access. I also helped patrons with any reference questions they had and ensured that every patron found what they were looking for.
