iA Clarington Investments is one of Canada's leading investment management companies that offers a wide array of investment solutions including actively managed mutual funds, managed portfolios and Active ETF series. As a co-op student, I developed detailed fund reports to monitor KPI's including Mutual Fund & ETF sales flows, performance and risk metrics using Morningstar, eVestment, Simfund and Bloomberg platforms. Additionally, I worked with a Certified Financial Analyst to evaluate new products for sale on our platform on a case-by-case basis generally looking at historical performance, risk, legal history and several other relevant metrics.

Tenaris' Algoma Tubes facility produces 250,000+ tons of seamless steel pipe annually for oil field applications. Interning in the quality department, I developed strong statistical skills by conducting Measurement System Analysis on different lab equipment. I also aided in multiple continuous improvement projects by doing time studies, data analysis and developing detailed control plans.

The software development team I interned with at Ericsson has decades of combined experience in developing robust software for large corporate clients. I specifically worked on developing web services to communicate between two of our client's databases. I also optimized SQL scripts to query results from large scale Oracle databases with an emphasis on speed and safety. I developed skills and coding experience in the following technologies; Java, C#, SOAPUI and SQL.

Husky Energy's Lloydminster operation is composed of several CHOPS and thermal oil wells in the neighboring Alberta and Saskatchewan oil fields. As a co-op student in the production department, I worked on maximizing the oil production of 115 wells by day-day troubleshooting of issues and identifying optimization opportunities. I utilized the DMAIC Lean Six Sigma framework to lead multiple continuous improvement projects, prioritizing based on potential profit.

Maple Leaf Foods is one of Canada's biggest consumer packaged meats company with a rich history of innovation. The product development team I interned with aims to develop new products that are tasty, sustainable and affordable. My project specifically was to develop a novel binder to replace the existing carageenan based binder in one of our highest production recipes. I also achieved my Six Sigma White Belt by completing relevant training modules and continuous improvement projects under the supervision of a process engineer.

Professor Ng's heavy oil research group at the University of Waterloo is focused on developing catalysts to aid in heavy oil upgrading and hydrocarbon conversion. Working as a Research Assistant, I developed strong analytical laboratory skills by operating a high pressure autoclave reactor to upgrade heavy crude. I also performed various laboratory tests including thermo-gravimetric analysis, x-ray diffraction, acid number test and gas chromatography to determine the properties of upgraded bitumen.

During my co-op at Environment Canada, I developed several MATLAB scripts to model buoy data in anticipation of the 2015 Pan American games. The scripts automatically analyzed the data using statistics and displayed the results using visual tool such as histograms, time series and wind roses.I also wrote VBA macros to automatically pull and analyze sensor data including temperature, wind speed and pressure. The code I developed in MATLAB and EXCEL helped to automatically analyze relevant data from our sensors in order to make accurate meteorological predictions for the 2015 Pan American games
