I am a passionate advocate of empowering women to build a more inclusive and fairer world. As women, we have the capacity and an incredible opportunity to transform our world by not accepting ‘business as usual’ at work or at home. But to do so, we need to exercise the power that we already have within our families, at work, in our community when making everyday decisions. We can learn to be conscious of our own biases, stand up more for ourselves, call out bad behaviours and exert our power when we vote or buy goods and services.I have tried to do just this in my life – in 2006, I founded my own business, Addidi, a financial advisory boutique for women. Addidi was a profitable business but it didn’t compromise on its values of fairness, transparency and integrity. In addition to financial returns, we looked to provide personal and social returns for our clients. I am gratified of the good work we did and the goodwill we created among our clients and staff.Having sold Addidi, my ambition now is to promote a beautiful, bold vision for our collective future, a future where:1. we are good to ourselves and compassionate to others2. kindness and ‘Seva’ (helping others/giving back) is valued above money3. thriving as a happy, compassionate human being is the goal we set out to achieve,4. we celebrate our differences and an inclusive culture is a given.Let the next phase begin…
