• Assisted in monitoring the provision of special education services to the California Youth Authority’s (CYA) wards.• Visited the CYA facilities in Stockton, interviewed committed juveniles, and evaluated their interactions with teachers and counselors, as well as other CYA staff.• Researched current juvenile justice issues and updated bibliography for the Center’s reports on crowding, waiver, and minority overrepresentation in the juvenile justice system.• Position held while pursuing Bachelor Degree.
