About Anna Steenson

At my core, I am a visual storyteller, but that expression comes out through my work as a documentarian, web designer, and creative designer. With a Master's in Communication Leadership and Bachelor's degrees in Digital Media Production and Music from Drake University, I combine technical and artistic expertise to bring stories to life. Throughout my professional and volunteer career, I have been devoted to creating and delivering impactful communication materials for various nonprofits, underserved communities, and diverse populations. My documentarian work particularly ignites my passion as it blends my technical and creative abilities to tell impactful stories. From highlighting the pressing issues surrounding anti-racism and the fight against systemic racism, to shining a light on the diversity of religious and cultural traditions present in Des Moines, to empowering college students to be agents of political change, to tackling the complex issue of the recidivism cycle and how it impacts incarcerated individuals, and advocating for neurodivergent individuals, my films have always aimed to serve as a megaphone for their voices and a catalyst for positive change.Fueled by creativity (and coffee) and driven by a desire to make a difference, I am eager to tackle new challenges and leave a lasting impact with each project I embark on.
