Working at the Research facility of the Dutch Blood Supply Foundation, I studied fundamental innate immunology in context of infectious diseases within a large EU-funded consortium that aimed to elucidate susceptibility for bacterial infections in children. Key accomplishments:- Excellent track record with four 1st author publications and five additional co-authorships. Received three awards for my work and had the opportunity to give various oral presentations for international audiences. - Initiated and maintained (inter)national collaborations, including those outside our consortium, resulting in a highly enjoyable work environment. - Developed good analytical thinking and a broad range of technical skills, that include HPLC, ELISA, microscopy, FACS, biochemical techniques, protein expression and purification.
