A sustainable finance, climate, environment expert with more than two decades of experience in green growth (including bioeconomy) and international development. Anna currently provides advice to several Boards and expert coalitions in New Zealand and internationally. Anna believes that well-being and prosperity can be achieved by reorienting capital towards decisions which recognize human, social, and natural capital as key assets in our economy. Areas of interest include strategic leadership and governance roles which drives capital towards systemic changes in economic and financial systems and prevents unnecessary risks. Anna supports governments, investors, business and communities to build resilient local green economies which results in good financial returns, while delivering climate, environment and social impacts. Previous to moving to New Zealand, Anna was part of GGGI’s extended executive management team based out of Seoul. She designed GGGI’s first global strategy on Sustainable Landscapes and headed relevant programs in countries across Asia Pacific, Africa and Latin America. Her portfolio covered forest, agriculture, coastal and marine sectors with relevance to climate, food security, REDD+ and nature-based solutions. In collaboration with member countries, her team designed inclusive and gender sensitive business models, assessed risks, regulatory and trade challenges and opportunities, designed scalable jurisdictional investment projects/programs and financial and policy instruments. Throughout her career, Anna managed cutting-edge investment projects and led multidisciplinary teams across countries. She leveraged multimillion dollars from climate finance and advised the design of innovative blended finance instruments and risk reducing policies which integrate climate & biodiversity risks. Between 2013-2017 she successfully established the GGGI program in Indonesia at national and subnational level shaping bankable projects in a variety of sectors. Anna authored an innovative spatial-economic assessment ‘Heart of Borneo: Investing in nature for a green economy’ with WWF. This project & publication was launched at the WCSD Rio+20 in 2012.Born in Papua New Guinea, Anna’s diverse background has significantly influenced her career path and views in life. Anna completed her MSc in Geo-information Science in the Netherlands, her BSc Hons degree in Australia, and spent her youth in remote parts of Indonesia as far as Ransiki, West Papua.
