About Anna Veluz-Wilkins

I am a Translational Behavioral Scientist who has spent the last 2 decades committed to understanding and addressing the health equity needs of diverse, underrepresented and marginalized communities. My passion is to leverage the behavioral sciences to design creative, collaborative and scalable solutions to advance equity, social impact, and sustainability. Throughout my work, I have taken a community-engaged research lens to identify specific needs of stakeholders and communities, developing and executing solutions that better address those needs and drive meaningful change. I bring:● More than 15 years of experience tackling the unmet behavioral health service gaps of LGBTQIA communities, low income and uninsured populations, and vulnerable patient groups (e.g., cancer, major depressive disorder, substance-dependent) through the design, management, and evaluation of behavioral and population health management intervention trials and curriculum development projects within academic settings, in collaboration with industry partners and community-based organizations. ● Demonstrated ability to translate research findings into actionable insights, applying these insights to effective clinical intervention design, resulting in multimillion-dollar NIH grant awards. ● More than 10 years of experience effectively and efficiently leading teams within hybrid and distributed workforce environments. ● Proven ability to understand and anticipate the impact of project design on costs, timelines and overall project management from launch through close out. ● Experience as the key decision maker on all operational aspects of project execution.● Decades of skill in clinical supervision, safety monitoring, psychological assessment, team leadership, focus groups and qualitative analyses, quantitative data management, analyses of traditional clinical trials-generated data, real world evidence and the integration of those data, grant writing, protocol development, management of operating budgets and budget forecasting/projection.
