My current role is Associate Director – Process Engineering in Pharmaceutical Technology & Development at AstraZeneca. In this role, I manage a team of process engineers developing robust, sustainable manufacturing processes for active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) and supporting drug projects in late stage development.My previous role was Associate Principal Scientist – Oligonucleotide Processing in Pharmaceutical Technology & Development at AstraZeneca. In this role, I led development of sustainable manufacturing processes for oligonucleotide APIs and supported oligonucleotide drug projects in late stage development.I have several years’ experience leading process development and manufacture for new modality APIs (oligonucleotides and peptides), creating and delivering against ambitious strategies. I also have experience coaching junior colleagues and managing multi-skillset teams. I have built a strong network across the pharmaceutical industry and have presented on improving the sustainability of oligonucleotide processes at the TIDES and EuroTIDES conferences.Finally, I received the Salters’ Centenary Award “for potential to make an outstanding long-term contribution to industry” in 2019.
