Assisting secondary schools with their Ofsted requirements to meet higher exposure to different careers for the students. I will be assisting the students with CV writing, Interview practises and of course lots of information about the Insurance Industry. This was an area of work that I was not informed upon when I was at school and I believe that young people are missing out on this understanding.Of course it goes without saying that I will also use my skillset to introduce the students to an array of other business people within my networks. Barraclough and Partners have been trading since 1948, here I worked externally to develop the Commercial Insurance book of business across Kent & the South East.I used my portfolio of skills to get to know my potential clients before helping them decide what they needed. The part of this role that I enjoyed the most was sales & marketing. I dealt with existing business enquiries, as well as client renewals and new business, including re-broking and new broking. I very much enjoyed attending exhibitions and events to promote the company. As always, here, I found servicing my client's business requirements very rewarding.

Working as a large part within a small team, my main activities would have included New Business for Commercial and Personal Lines. 100 + years ago, the NFU Mutual originated from the agricultural communities, they still have a large clientele here, but they also now have a large proportion of General Insurance clients. Day to day I was responsible for the more general duties of running a Sales office, including retention and claims handling/intimation and marketing.
