Ann has spent her career building human capital capabilities to advance a broad range of business opportunities in the field of investment management. As the founding Head of Human Resources at Two Sigma, Ann played a key role in growing the organization from a start up to a global institution. Her focus was on hiring the first 1200+ employees while bringing the vision for people and culture to life (2001 - 2016).In 2017, Ann transitioned her corporate responsibilities to serve as an Operating Partner for Two Sigma’s early stage venture capital business, Two Sigma Ventures (TSV) and its portfolio of 50+ start ups. In 2020, she joined Two Sigma Impact at the inception of the business to help architect the fund’s social impact mandate and operations for this middle market private equity strategy. When the business spun out of Two Sigma Private Investments in 2024, Ann became a senior advisor to the new standalone fund, Future of Work Partners. In this capacity, she supports deal and management teams as an executive advisor and board member.Ann launched her career in 1994 when she joined the early HR team at D. E.Shaw & Co. after earning a master’s degree in counseling from New York University and a bachelors degree in psychology from Dartmouth College. Outside of her work at Two Sigma, Ann offers referral-based executive coaching through her private practice, Baker Group Advisory. She also serves as an independent / executive board director.
