Throughout my legal career, I have provided legal consultation to businesses and organizations on employment and HR matters and have litigated on behalf of employers in a variety of forums, including federal and state court, administrative agencies and labor arbitration proceedings. I have successfully tried federal court jury trials and regularly represent employers before administrative agencies. In addition to litigation, my practice includes advising businesses on a variety of workplace legal compliance issues and matters. These include handling discharge and discipline, managing hiring and recruitment, drafting employment contracts, addressing employment discrimination issues, negotiating separation agreements, investigating harassment complaints, drafting employee handbooks, developing employment policies, drafting non-compete and confidentiality agreements, complying with state, federal and local laws including the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and the state law equivalents, and managing wage and hour and leave of absences matters. In addition to providing legal consultation on HR-related legal compliance matters, I also have been engaged by clients to conduct workplace investigations on issues including misconduct, harassment and discrimination.I am recognized as an AV Preeminent Lawyer by Martindale Hubbell, a distinction representing my ranking at the highest level of professional excellence for legal expertise, communication skills and ethical standards.
