Over the last 7 years, I have worked relief in 15 independent pharmacies across Kentucky. This experience has afforded me the opportunity to see various business models and operations. I have also experienced the the unique struggles of independent pharmacy; recognizing changes in reimbursements, and maximizing rebates -while also counseling, caring and assessing patients. It’s a balance between business and patient care in a changing landscape. Those changes helped to cultivate my interest in point-of-care testing and Board protocols. I am eager to implement all that my license has to offer. In my most recent role, as pharmacy manager, I implemented or updated all workflow. Streamlining inventory, I have been able to significantly reduce cost and maximize revenue while also implementing a MTM and med sync program. We worked closely with a healthcare startup and were able to expand delivery range up to 100 miles.Additionally, I am a freelance writer and editor. As a pharmacist, I translate medical terminology for patients and healthcare providers. These relationships, coupled with my medical knowledge, puts me in a unique position as a content writer. I have studied disease, medicine, and treatment at a doctoral level and continue as a lifelong learner. I have a strong understanding of the healthcare industry and can write on any science related topic. I have worked on projects with international clients, researched various subjects, and am currently working on pharmacy law study questions for multiple states. That’s me in a nutshell.
