With 25+ years of experience in nearly every aspect of the resort spa business, Ann Brown is an industry veteran whose expertise extends from licensed cosmetologist, esthetician, nail technician and massage therapist to accomplished spa director and business manager. In addition to founding Saltability, Ann is also the Co-Founder of Himalayan Source that works with luxury spas and architects, top builders and designers around the world to build salt therapy concepts. She also serves as a World Spa Judge to judge the most sustainable spas around the world.In 2015, she founded Saltability to answer the need for a better treatment in the spa industry in regards to Hot Stone massage. Receiving a patent to use hand carved Salt stones for massage in a warmer that she patented using no water , no chemicals and very little electric to be sustainable in an industry focused on health, wellness and being green. Serving three years on the board of directors for the International Spa Association and five years on the education committee for the ISPA (governing Board for International Spas)organization, Brown is trained in all facets of the spa industry and is a founding member of the American Spa Therapy Education and Certification Council, which educates some of the country’s top spas about intention, attention and delivering beyond expectations. She earned a bachelor’s degree in business management from the University of Florida and contributed to the development of ISPA’s Hiring and Training Guide, in addition to helping co-author two textbooks used for spa management degrees at major universities including Cornell University and UC Urvine, CA.She has presented on spa management and modalities at ISPA’s annual conference, the American Massage Therapy Association conference, IECSC and more and has served her community as a board member of several nonprofits including Downtown Rotary in her local community in Boca Raton, Florida. She has two daughters at University of Florida both pursuing engineering degrees.
