I have been in manufacturing for 15 years and earned fast-tracked promotions at a Fortune 500 company by transforming two of their organizations through key continuous improvement/Lean projects. Notable improvements extended to production yield, quality, OTD, customer satisfaction, and other KPIs while greatly reducing costs, waste, and late backlogs. A full array of functions reaped the benefits, such as manufacturing operations, supply chain, and engineering. And, I enhanced the manufacturing infrastructure with versatile production cells, manufacturing skills, technology advancement, and visual daily management.As a continuous improvement director and influencer, I managed up, guiding and collaborating with all levels of leaders. Major focus was on strategic goal deployment, data integrity, and daily management. Driving major change has its challenges. I don’t believe in pushing people. I grow influence through leading with humility and developing relationships through trust. I focus on the end goal, engaging those onboard with the initiative, who then help promote the benefits of the change to skeptical employees. I develop trusting relationships with skeptics through respect for their views and support in others activities. Typically, I can count on those resistant to change embrace it as they begin to see each little success, whether that be improved results or how new systems will allow them to work smarter or their trust in my vested interest in their success. Their minds begin to shift.Previously, I was a (senior) manufacturing engineer lead and called on to lead several efforts outside my typical scope of work. While managing the redesign of production through 5S and Kanban projects, I've developed dashboards and procedures for supply chain and quality.Anyone who knows me, knows I immerse myself in self-study when I don’t know something. No one has to ask; I am intrinsically motivated to learn. This is an exciting time for manufacturing and I love being part of it, contributing to innovation and optimization.Outside of my manufacturing experience, I've embarked on a journey to launch a fast serving breakfast restaurant. I was forced to learn new skills and learn fast from my mistakes. Thus far, the business sales grew 50%, customer wait time was cut in half, and a google rating of 4.9 star.
