My background is in nursing & teaching from which I have gained many transferrable skills, working with a diverse range of individuals, providing person-centred care and education. I have experience practicing in a wide variety of roles and specialities including general medical, palliative care and district nursing & held a Sisters post with Family Nursing. I was a lecturer at Highlands College between 2012-2020 within the Health and Social Care faculty, teaching individuals from the local community and working with a number of other professionals and organisations to secure best outcomes for learners.I have worked in the events industry for 15 years, managing Aant Entertainment with my husband Nelson, curating and running the Family Areas for festivals and events and as the Office Manager for Vibert Marquees Ltd. I have excellent relations with event industry professionals and regulatory bodies and experience in running events from initial discussion, planning, risk assessment, funding and development to live event coordination & delivery. In my current role as Charity Development Manager for EYECAN I am responsible for Operations, HR & recruitment, Marketing, Advertising and formal business requirements.I have worked with and for a number of charities and organisations including Jersey Hospice, Family Nursing & Homecare, Highlands College, Jersey Heritage, Les Amis, Beresford Street Kitchen, Government of Jersey & Youth Arts Jersey. I have a good understanding of the charitable sector in Jersey and have been involved in a number of fundraising and awareness initiatives.I have held positions on committees including the Board of Governors for Highlands College (Elected Staff Representative), Board of Trustees for Family Nursing (and vice Chair of Governance sub- committee) and am currently the Secretary for Youth Arts Jersey in my second term of office.
