Anne is a human rights advocate with experience in both the Legislative and Executive branches of the federal government as well as the private sector. Crafting legislation, policies, and appropriations requests to serve and protect the most vulnerable, she has testified numerous times in Congress as well as the United Nations and C20 Global Summit.Previously, Anne was in senior leadership the Department of Justice Office for Victims of Crime (OVC) which provides over $2 billion in federal funding directed to nonprofit organizations and other projects serving victims of crime such as sexual assault, human trafficking, terrorism, domestic violence, and child abuse. Because of this she has unique behind-the-scenes knowledge of the federal grant process and understanding of how to increase organizational capacity.With a passion for collaboration in policy making, Anne is the convener of the ATIP Policy Roundtable in the U.S. Senate which brings together more 50 NGOs as well as Members of Congress for discussions about policy solutions to child protection and human rights issues. She is also Founder and Chair of the Interparliamentary Taskforce on Human Trafficking where she leads a coalition of more than 40 Members of Parliament and Congress, government leaders, lived experience experts and policy experts from throughout the world in policy solutions to human rights and global security issues. She also serves on the Board of Directors for the Parliamentary Intelligence Security Forum.Anne earned her Masters in Education from University of Virginia and began her career working in the United States Senate. Her op-eds have been featured in various publications, and she has been a guest on numerous media outlets. She is the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award for Human Rights Advocacy from the Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences.
