Anne Bruno is a Experienced higher education professional. Colleagues describe her as "During my time at The University of Akron I had the opportunity to work alongside some truly extraordinary folks- Anne Bruno being at the top of the list. It was my privilege to work with Anne on a daily basis for two years during my two terms as student body president at UA. Anne was an incredible mentor, confidant, and friend as she advised me, and our organization, as we helped the University navigate some of our toughest years. She would never admit this, but Anne actually has a day named after her that is celebrated annually in November for her contributions to student government and UA. (Not just anyone gets a day named after them!) After receiving my appointment by the Governor of Ohio to serve on the Board of Trustees at UA as a student trustee, I quickly surrounded myself with people I could lean on as we worked to right the ship. Without even thinking, I would consistently go to Anne for counsel and advice to help get feedback on some of the make choices we would have to make. Anne was never afraid to tell me when she thought I was off, didn't see something in the broader picture, or when my vision may have been clouded. She kept me steady with encouragement when I was down and challenged my perspective when I needed it the most. Anne is sincerely one of the most exceptional people I know. In my five years of working with Anne, I can say I witnessed firsthand the passion she has for her work, her "all in" mentality, and the compassion she shows for others when they are working through a difficult moment. It is hard for me to put into words how grateful I am to have called Anne a colleague and how truly appreciative I am to continue to call Anne a friend to this day!" and "Anne worked with me through many unique challenges.
