As Calder Design, I work hand-in-hand with clients to transform their houses into spaces that bring them joy. Whether it's redesigning an older kitchen or decorating a brand new apartment, I work to infuse clients' personalities into their spaces to create a unique and inspiring home.

As Associate Designer at Susan Currie Design, I wore many hats -- designer, logistician, and project manager. On the design side, I helped dream up design schemes tailored to each client, and sourced furnishings and fixtures. I led meetings and corresponded with clients. As draftsperson, I reworked floor plans, determined what would fit, and thought through construction details. When we were ready to bring the design to fruition, I requested bids and quotes, prepared estimates, placed orders, and sequenced projects.

House of Elliott is a small but bustling firm, with large projects and many moving parts. I made sure all the balls stayed in the air by communicating with vendors, creating product proposals, placing and tracking orders, and preparing client invoices. I took site measurements and drew up furniture plans.My knowledge of construction was particularly valued in this role; I was relied upon in site meetings with contractors and subs. I met with contractors for quotes, oversaw installations, and communicated with clients.

At Susan Currie Design, I assisted the principal with all aspects of design. I helped come up with design concepts for new projects, searched for finishes and furnishings, and supplied a second opinion when design decisions were being made. I also took field measurements, drew plans and elevations in AutoCAD, communicated with subcontractors, and placed and managed orders.

In my role as marketing assistant, I did background research on prospective and future projects. I helped to prepare project proposals, and wrote news items for the firm's website and social media pages.

At Kliment Halsband, I assisted with the administrative side of construction. I distributed and tracked the status of hundreds of submitted documents that were under review. Each needed to conform with project specifications, and multiple review sessions assured that they did. I corresponded with clients and vendors, and made sure that everyone had what they needed to keep projects moving smoothly.

As editorial assistant for the Custom department, I helped put together custom college textbooks for individual courses and programs. I was responsible for helping to organize and locate files, assembling manuscripts, proofreading content, and communicating with clients. I also liaised with other departments, secured permission to use text and images, and checked proofs.

As an editorial assistant at Melcher Media, I worked on a variety of beautiful, illustrated books. In this role, I did background research for upcoming projects, from dating books to graphic novels to legal history, I proofread content, edited InDesign files, communicated with freelancers, and performed administrative duties.
