Having stepped aside from the CEO role to reduce my hours for family reasons I am taking on a new role to support funding development for the charity. This will include stewardship, research, grant writing and wider income generation across corporate, trusts and individual donors.

I led the improvement of delivery, stakeholder relationships, fundraising, efficiency of support functions and refocussing of strategy through a period of significant change and the COVID pandemic. I recruited a largely new team building on the strengths of the nearly 30 years experience of the charity, led a period of change management and implemented a strategy to position us for the future.

Undershaw is a unique special needs school for a range of disabilities that see young people fall between the cracks between mainstream and a full SEN provision. I worked as business manager responsible for developing the business functions of the school to support development and growth from 30 to over 90 students. This included improving the finance, IT, support systems, fundraising, premises management and administration functions to support the needs of a specialist school delivering outstanding education.The original school started life on the site of a church, both properties were Grade listed buildings which brought unique features and challenges. Undershaw the 2nd site was the home of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle in Surrey and brought the opportunity to involve heritage, community and international visitors. It was a privilege to develop and lead a series of heritage events and mount an exhibition on the life and times of Sir Arthur in our local museum.Students benefitted from work experience in the social enterprise the Cookie Bar and formed a fundamental part of the school offer.

Responsible for the further development of outreach of the specialist services that Treloar's is able to offer some of the most complex physically disabled young people in the country. Working closely with therapy and educational teams as well as the residential services and sports leads. In addition, developing the use of the site for others who require its unique adaptations, learning and residential provision. I also supported and worked with the fundraising team with bids and events.

Support to the development of stakeholder relationships and marketing in support of the educational, outreach and fundrasing goals of Treloars.

Working with Serco to develop and lead teams to write innovative commercial bids with multi-national consortium to support scientific, space and national organisations. Development of marketing material for the European Space marketplace and support to stakeholder relationships.

As a Director of Serco Srl I was responsible for business development, consortium leadership and contract management as well as leading the administration office and all its functions. Working with international companies in large service contracts to support scientific and space organisations both in Italy and across Europe. Development of innovative solutions to the operations and performance of scientific research, software development, IT services, engineering, administrative and customer services.

Working as part of an international team on-site at the European Space Agency site in Frascati, Italy to develop systems to manage and process the data from ERS-1, Europe's first enviornmental remote sensing satellite. In particular for the CalVal (calibration and validation) campaign for the Wind Scatterometer following launch based for 4 months in Trondheim, Norway. I had the opportunity to work with the scientists from across the world who had developed the algorithms and instruments themselves over a career. I had the opportunity to fly with both the UK and German meteorological office planes down the Norwegian coast under the track of the satellite to undertake real-time measurements.

I worked on two main projects: the early development and use of Geographical Information Systems to support planning and management at regional and national level. I was also part of the system design and implementation team for the ground segment for the first European Remote Sensing Satellite ERS-1.
