Planned, edited and shared writing responsibilities for four community magazines; Subject matter included home and garden, community politics and business, historic retrospectives, community events and restaurant reviews.

Served as department head for a national association. Responsible for annual budget and project planning, and staff supervision. Served as editor for KEYNOTES, the association’s membership magazine. Provided a variety of editing, writing and planning services for the convention and membership departments. Worked with the association’s board, publications committee, public relations committee, and outside contractors and consultants.

Produced a state association magazine, TODAY’S CPA, in manager-level position. Co-responsibility for the annual budget, and content and business plans. Supervised staff and worked with a large volunteer editorial board, also serving as staff liaison to various committees including the society history archivists.

Publicized research for a staff of economists who studied financial institutions, agriculture, oil and gas, international issues, and the regional economy. Related duties including creating programs to educate the business community and media about the economy, including quarterly economic forum luncheons. Answered general calls from the media and the public, and served as a speaker to community groups.

Edited and wrote financial reports, and produced the annual stockholders' presentation. Produced a merchants' newsletter and served as liaison to the external advertising agency. Managed internal communications including production of an employee newspaper, photography, employee training programs, company bulletin boards, and passing out gift cases of Smuckers jelly each Christmas, in abject humilation, wearing an elf hat.
