In the decade that I was involved we helped thousands of homeless people to earn a living through selling the street newspaper. We helped hundreds of vulnerable people to move on from the streets. We sold millions of magazines. We raised millions of £ through the charitable Trust that we established. We played a small role in a big movement that brought together political leaders, the public and homeless people to give a powerful voice to the powerless. Everything important I know about making an impact I learned at The Big Issue in the North.
