Provide fundraising leadership to help support Penn State Greater Allegheny students through transformative educational experiences.

Started career at TRALMC as an undergraduate Communications Intern while attending Duquesne University (1993-1994), accepted a full-time position as Program Assistant upon graduation (1994-1998), promoted to Assistant Director (1998-2004) and later advanced to the position of Executive Director (2004-present). Provided technical assistance, information, education, training and consulting services to 80+ member organizations with objective to improve the labor-management climate and promoting quality productivity and workforce competitiveness in the Greater Pittsburgh region under the guidance of TRALMC’s board of directors and in support of their vision.Managed the organization’s core functions in administration, finance, membership, sales, development, communication and programming. Responsibilities included all aspects of the day-to-day operations of a member-driven organization including budget management, event planning, community outreach, grant compliance, project facilitation, collaborative team building, and program management in a deadline-driven work environment. Successfully delivered more than 59 grant applications for federal, state and local funding as well as private foundational and corporate giving proposals within diversified industry sectors including advanced manufacturing, building & construction, energy & utilities, and health care.

Directed the Three Rivers / Heinz Public Sector Health Care Coalition (2004—2013) with supportive grant funding from the Heinz Family Foundation to promote low-cost, high-quality health care strategies and system delivery to the largest public sector employers in the region including Allegheny County, the Allegheny County Schools Health Insurance Consortium, the City of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh Public School District, the Port Authority of Allegheny County, as well as two Taft-Hartley trusts, Ironworkers of Western PA Benefit Plans and Laborers’ Combined Funds of Western PA. Engaged public-sector employers, labor union representatives and health care industry stakeholders, oversaw multi-year health care plan quality evaluations, request-for-proposal development, review and coordination of a pharmacy benefit management program for nearly 100,000 covered lives, RFP development for ancillary employee benefits, and worked with health care insurance and pharmaceutical companies to deliver innovative targeted health care programs to employers.

Program Manager of the Western Pennsylvania Steel Industry Partnership/Pennsylvania Steel Alliance Industry Partnership under Pennsylvania’s Industry Partnership Program (2005-ongoing), a multi-employer, industry-specific collaborative effort that brings of a cluster of companies with similar needs and challenges. Served as the inaugural executive director of the Pennsylvania Steel Alliance (2011-2012), a statewide labor/management steel industry 501(c)4 organization created to educate the public and elected officials about the impact of the steel industry and public policy issues affecting its growth in Pennsylvania. Coordinated the Economic Impact of the Steel Industry study through the Pennsylvania Economy League of Southwestern Pennsylvania, recruited corporate manufacturer and supply chain membership, and addressed supporters at the kick-off press conference at the Pennsylvania State Capitol. Ongoing role as Pennsylvania Steel Alliance workforce development program manager, successfully secured and managed in excess of $2 million in steel manufacturing workforce development training grants including a heavy manufacturing pre-apprenticeship program, and fiscal manager.
