My 28 years of experience have been at the secondary level on the middle and high school campuses. I have taught state champions in public speaking as well as debate. I am a passionate believer in the need for more creative solutions in the education of our youth and have dedicated my career to focusing on building learning programs while engaging the community and parents in the need for continuous improvement of our school system. I am a focused change leader who builds strong teams motivated by successful academic outcomes and social awareness. I have walked onto numerous campuses across the country and built relationships quickly by being a good listener and a problem solver. As a teacher myself, and a very hands-on leader, I understand the unique challenges faced daily in the classroom and have mentored many teachers and administrators through some difficult situations. Engaging school systems to be excited about new programs and solutions is a skillset I have learned over time having started many new initiatives under my leadership. I have raised money when the school didn’t have it for things we badly needed or the kids just wanted. I have implemented programs that needed much persuasion to get the parents on board. I have a strength in building a positive culture on campuses with my staff, students, parents, and community.
