Working on the company's sustainability and improvement of work structure

As a volunteer at the Aktiegroep Oude Westen I am involved in several initiatives to make the neighbourhood more sustainable. We help people to reduce their energy bill through home visits. We also initiated a solar roof in which all neighbours can buy a share. A focus point is to make sure that our initiatives are accessible for everyone, regardless of background and income level.

Supported this start-up to make steps in the proof of concept trajectory, with two student projects of the Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences

Preparing and leading the assembly of Interceptors on local yards in Malaysia and Vietnam by local teams. Monitoring and follow-up of local deployments, optimization, internal reporting, collecting feedback and information. Designing and implementing improvements for working and reporting.Defining goals, way of working and responsibilities for the team in a changing organisation.

Travel, voluntary work and home improvement.

Project Manager for aftersales projects up to several million €. Modifications and upgrades of offshore systems like pipelay towers, cranes and drilling equipment. Leading multi-disciplinary teams to successful results in a highly innovative and technical environment.

I started here as a planner and have since been involved in all stages of our projects: preparing tenders, choosing of subcontractors, making and updating the main plans for BGHT’s projects, preparing and supervising of work scopes, meetings with clients and subcontractors, HSE, quality control, documentation, organising evaluation sessions afterwards. In smaller projects I functioned as project manager, in larger projects as assistant and/or sub project (package) manager.Between projects my work has also consisted of work on ISO 9001 certification and implementation of project management software IFS.Clients I worked with include: Prosafe (Safe Scandinavia, Safe Caledonia), Transocean (Polar Pioneer, Arctic, Winner, Leader), Odfjell (Deepsea Atlantic), CGG Veritas seismic vessels.

Responsibility for coordination, execution and follow-up of quality inspections of new-built supply boat (Troms Castor) at Hellesøy Verft. Bringing parties together to find solutions for shortcomings, creating a system for management and archiving of documents, communication between companies.

Mainly design and AutoCAD drawing parts like wheelhouse, lifeboat arrangement etc. The work includes workspace and exterior design, application of rules, and contact with suppliers. Expanding my knowledge on ship arrangements and equipment, and general shipping business.

As a consultant for FjordConsult/TONEdesign, I participated in the following projects:1 Jan-June 2007: Development of new lifeboat type for Norsafe AS: Norsafe wanted to get into the cruise market with free fall lifeboats. I was involved as a designer and developer in the project, working on different concepts, finding and working out ideas and principles, research into present and future regulations, presenting our ideas at several companies.2 Sep 2007-Mar 2008: Writing final reports on lifeboat safety for Norwegian Oil Federation (OLF)Since insufficient safety of free-fall lifeboats was observed in 2005, several organisations and bureaus worked together to develop new safety standards and upgrade existing lifeboats. We collected all results, connected and completed information and made final reports.

To test a new model for product cooling design, I set up and carried out a consumer research project. This consisted of both user tests and interviews, described in an end report.
