A specialist in democracy and governance program design and implementation, Ms. Salinas has managed extensive projects around the world, with particular focus on Africa. In her current position as Deputy Director of Africa Programs at the International Foundation for Election Systems (IFES), Ms. Salinas oversees the management of more than 12 projects in Africa that seek to further democratic processes and institutions. In her previous position as Senior Program Officer for AED’s Center for Civil Society and Governance, Ms. Salinas implemented civil society strengthening and peace building projects in Liberia, India, Bangladesh, and Kosovo. Co-authored a USAID study, Evolution of a Transition Strategy and Lessons Learned: USAID Funded Activities in the West Bank of Southern Sudan, 1993 to 1999.
