Over the 3 years I spent substitute teaching, I have developed many valuable teaching skills and experiences that I will be able to utilize in my own classroom; including very strong classroom management skills and the ability to adapt my teaching strategies to best suit the students I am working with. Due to my experiences at Coshocton City schools as well as several school districts around the Cleveland area, I feel confident walking into any classroom, knowing that I will be able to command the attention of any age group or achievement level. I consider being firm and patient to be my greatest strengths in the classroom. My high student expectations are paramount to a positive learning environment, and when the classroom is in the correct mindset, then authentic learning will occur. While substitute teaching I discovered an additional passion for working with special needs students, whether in a separate classroom or during full inclusion. I became respected and often requested by many teachers in these districts over the course of my time there.
