Squadron Oh-58D Standardization Instructor PilotUs Army Jan 2010 - May 2012Fort Campbell, KyServed as the Senior Standardization Instructor Pilot in 7-17th Cavalry Squadron flying the OH-58D Kiowa Warrior with 110 assigned aviators, four Troop assigned Standardization Instructor Pilots, and six assigned Troop Instructor pilots. Primary responsibility was to ensure the readiness levels and annual proficiency and readiness testing of all assigned pilots through advising and mentoring of Troop level Instructor Pilots. Additionally, was responsible for ensuring adherence, by all assigned aviators, to FAA and Army Regulations, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Technical Manuals, and all theater of operation aviation rules and procedures while deployed. Annually, instructed from 200-500 hours in the OH-58D. While deployed, served as the Task Force Standardization Instructor Pilot and had AH-64 and UH-60 pilots assigned to my unit for which I was responsible. -
Squadron Master Gunner/Oh-58D Standardization Instructor PilotUs Army Sep 2007 - Dec 2009Fort Campbell, KyPerformed duties as the Squadron (while stationed CONUS) and Task Force Master Gunner (while deployed with four different airframes assigned to the Task Force). I planned, trained, and executed all Squadron and Task Force level gunneries to ensure the aircraft currency and certification of all assigned pilots. This included OH-58D, and AH-64 Pilots, and UH-60 and CH-47 door gunners. While deployed personally built an aerial weapons range in Jalabad, Afghanistan, complete with hulk vehicles and hardened targets. Simultaneously, continued to fly daily missions (approximately 600 hours annually) and conduct flight evaluations on all assigned OH-58D pilots as a Standardization Instructor Pilot. Also planned, trained, executed and evaluated all door gunnery certifications and currency flights. -
