Directly responsible for Hazardous Waste Program, Air Emissions Program, Waste Water Programs, Chemical Inventory Program, Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure Program, Material Safety Data Sheet Management Program, and Fire Code Compliance (CEDMAT) Program. Project Manager for ISO14001.Project ManagementHewlett-Packard decided to be one of the first global manufacturing businesses to become ISO14001 certified. Initiated the site project team and was a key contributor to the establishment of the management system and written program. Lead the recent recertification of the system.Technical Program Management• The San Diego site Production and R&D efforts generates 200 tons of hazardous waste. Managed a $450K budget for disposal thru a contractor with three on-site technicians. Thru co-ordination with Production, the site was able to report a reduction in hazardous waste in the 2011 SB14 Reporting. Efforts continue and also include printer test areas and R&D chemical laboratories.• In support of ISO14001 implementation and continued improvement, authored documentation for air, water and waste programs.Technical Program Consulting• Hewlett-Packard acquired Electronic Data System and environmental services then came under the EHS department. Successfully assisted the Facility Project Manager in obtaining emergency generator permit and completion of California Hazardous Materials Technical Program Consulting Plan and Spill Release, Control and Countermeasure Plan for Cerritos site and annual reporting for other sites. • Hewlett-Packard decided to consolidate warehousing in California. Provided environmental review of Phase 1 assessment and commented on lease language.• Completed Toxic Substance Control Act (TSCA) certifications and completed Chemical Data Reporting/Inventory Update Rule data calculations.

ISO 14001, Air Permitting, Storm Water, Industrial Discharge Permitting and Hazardous Waste disposal.

• Prepared and submitted various reports to local, state and federal agencies on site operations including permits for facility upgrades• Responsible for budget, training, air, water and waste programs.• Provided resources and technical environmental support to projects.• Liaison with government representatives. I was responsible for the site environmental permits including air, water and waste.• Responsible for overseeing the environmental program and health & safety hazard communication program.• Responsible for supervision of health & safety engineer.

• Responsible for waste water permits and compliance, contracting for hazardous waste disposal and audits of contracted hazardous waste treatment, storage and disposal facilities. • Environmental coordinator for the contracted design of a waste water treatment plant to process the effluent from a circuit board plating laboratory. • Alternate for environmental manager in his absence. Mentored engineer on environmental programs. • Member of various teams including Safety Committee, Chemical Control Committee and Materials and Process Team. Meetings were held to identify and resolve health and environmental issues in the manufacturing processes. • Initiated and chaired the Solvent Reduction Team which later received an award from President Nixon for the extensive solvent reduction that was achieved. • Responsible for writing proposal and managing remediation contractor including review of more than 15 monitoring wells at Cape Canaveral.

Progressive experience resulting in advancement to Senior Scientist. As a Senior Scientist, responsible for technical and analytical support to the Process Engineering Division on the incineration of toxic and hazardous materials for one year. In this capacity, responsible for sampling and analysis, cost analysis, scheduling, proposal writing, vendor specifications, permit submittal and test plan specifications. Supervision of laboratory technicians on bench scale tests to provide estimate of marketability of the process. Extensive experience in risk analysis which is required by environmental regulation. Responsible for development and computer analysis on the San Diego Super Computer and in-house mainframe of logic trees in support of nuclear accident probabilistic risk analysis and investment risk analysis for two years. Experienced in the handling of hazardous materials and properties of industrial materials. Consultant to the Materials Department on the chemistry of plastic and elastomeric materials. Established the Inductively Coupled Plasma Spectroscopy Laboratory for the analysis of low level contaminants in metallic materials. Managed the Radiological Chemistry Computer Applications Laboratory, comprised of micro and mini computers, in the acquisition, storage, and analysis of nuclear data for several systems. Remaining experience as a scientist for 5 years and engineering aide for 3 years.
