The Integrated Teaching and Learning (ITL) Program at CU Boulder is an award-winning engineering education leader. The ITL Program supports hands-on engineering learning where students integrate theory with practice in a makerspace environment. My day-to-day included assisting students with the technical aspects of executing engineering projects, workshops with prototyping equipment, and helping instructors bring hands-on learning into curriculum. Within the laboratory, served as primary support for implementing, maintaining and troubleshooting: - Data acquisition (DAQ) and testing hardware and software - Epilog Laser Machines - Artec EVA, Next Engine and Mark II 3D ScannersDeveloped and implemented a DAQ workshop for Senior Design capstone courses by coordinating with ME department leadership. Provided students with how and why to think about data acquisition, while incorporating hands-on practice with LabVIEW, sensors and DAQ. I am certified in NI Core 1 & 2, and implemented these skillsets while consulting with dozens of Senior Design groups on sensor selection and LabVIEW setup for industry projects. Completed comprehensive inventory of sensors, and authored a grant for the expansion and updating of the inventory. Developed and implemented Epilog Laser Machine workshop to give students practice in the use of CorelDRAW, CAD model exports from OnShape, and practice through the use of the machine. During the COVID-19 pandemic, converted full workshop to remote format. Co-launched a Fabrication Request System to coordinate prototyping during remote operations. Developed and implemented a 3D scanning workshop that included a complete rework of the workshop structure to implement hands-on student use and learning. By integrating 3D scanning with 3D printers, students were able to integrate several skillsets at once including CAD and manufacturing. Authored grant that was funded to purchase low-cost 3D scanners and increase accessibility.
