The Baird Group is a small, agile technical writing, editing and training company. We serve several markets: non-profit organizations; educational foundations; textbook publishers; specialty publishers; and software houses. Examples of our work include: two quality management plans; 200 hours of high school curriculum designed for at-risk high school students; production of 17 textbooks for a major trade union apprentice training program; college-level technology texts for a major publisher; software user manuals; and scope and sequences, writer's guides, style sheets, and student and instructor manuals for training classes.

Wrote documentation and developed online help to explain the use of the company's flagship software product. Regular contributor to company website articles that stressed the use of agile development practices. Author of blog articles that appeared in the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

Started as a contractor, then hired full time in January, 1996. Wrote technical documentation for the company's primary help-desk product. In 1997, promoted to editor and served as the head of the Tivoli Editor's Council until 2000.

Worked in the Computer Education area, developing post-secondary manuals and instructor material used to teach various courses in word processing, spreadsheets and databases.
