Retired after having worked over 35 years as a secretary, including over 13 years as a legal assistant for Kimball, Tirey & St. John.

Job duties entailed processing legal documents, including Unlawful Detainer Summons & Complaints and Default Packages; preparing Stipulations, Declarations, etc. using Legal Solutions, ProLaw law practice management software and Microsoft Word.For approximately six months during my employment with KTS, I was assigned to assist trial attorneys in collecting and creating documents needed for upcoming civil trials. I had frequently communication with court clerks relative to Unlawful Detainer cases which had been submitted by our law firm. I was also responsible for calendaring trial dates, preparing trial packages, notifying clients of upcoming trial dates, locating files for trial attorneys and entering trial results into ProLaw.

Responsible for transcription of dictated and written investigative reports, creating documents in draft format for review by department supervisor, edited grammar and punctuation, proofread for accuracy, and printed final reports. Duties also included creation of forms, charts, tables and merge files using WordPerfect 5.1. In addition, I trained the new and temporary employees in the Word Processing Department.

Processed business correspondence, tables, charts, manuals, newsletters, recorded statements, resumes, etc. and transcribed meeting minutes using WordPerfect. Business closed in August 1991, due to the recession.

Responsible for processing correspondence, proposals, company literature, etc. for ten producers, as well as the senior vice president of the Insurance Division – Orange County office.
