Current• Types/composes pleadings, memoranda, letters to ensure the timely, accurate and professional completion of documents and court filings. • Contacts state agencies, citizens, legislators, attorneys and court personnel to schedule hearings, meetings, depositions, or conference calls, and to direct parties to the appropriate entities. • Prepares legal briefs, including proofreading, checking citations for correct format, preparation of tables of authorities and contents. Oversees filing of briefs, notices of appeals and appendices thereto with courts in compliance with state and federal rules governing format, filing, and service. • Answers main telephone console connecting all bureaus and greets attorneys, legislators, and members of the general public and directs the individual to either the appropriate office, individual or other state agency or entity. • Opens, stamps, sorts case files, and logs incoming mail to track that mail throughout the Office of the At-torney General and routes it to the correct person, on an as-needed basis. Organizes and maintains case files, research files, form files, and miscellaneous files to enable retrieval of documents. • Maintains calendar and case management system for assigned attorneys to ensure that deadlines are met, work is completed in a timely manner, and matters are monitored on a routine basis. Maintains contract log on computer to ensure tracking and follow-up on all contracts submitted for approval.
