De så et økende behov for et fritidstilbud for folk som ville ta, ett skritt videre. I 2008 startet de med en fotball, mye iver, tid, og en liten gjeng fotballspillere. – Vi skjønte raskt at vi var inne på noe. Over ti år senere er FIRE-huset sentralt i Trondheim, et sted å komme til for faste treninger i trygt og rusfritt miljø. Det samme finner man på avdelingene i Stjørdal, Molde og i Kristiansund. Både Terje og Wenche har for lengst sluttet i sine faste jobber, og driver FIRE på heltid med totalt 18 ansatte. Stiftelsen er støttet av blant annet Helsedirektoratet, Gjensidigestiftelsen og frivillige bidragsytere. I fjor var omtrent 1000 personer med forskjellige utfordringer en del av FIRE-miljøet, og stiftelsen vokser.FIRE arrangerer fotballcup ,samlet sykling av Birkebeineren, langrenn, klatring, friluftsliv og FIREarbeid. – Vi hjelper folk ut i jobb, og gir dem tilhørighet.– Hos oss topper vi aldri laget, alle skal med. Det er kun to kriterier for å være her hos oss; rusfri og positiv, og vårt neste mål er at FIRE skal bli landsdekkende, sier Terje og Wenche. Show less
