I am a Canadian business lawyer based in Montreal, providing advice on environmental and indigenous law with a particular focus on regulatory compliance, land acquisitions, climate change and environmental, social, governance (ESG) law. I advise clients in various highly regulated industries, including the energy sector (notably hydrogen energy as well as conventional energies), transportation (rail), infrastructure and natural resources sectors.I have extensive experience at all stages of project development, including the required regulatory compliance, approvals, and Indigenous consultation best practices in transactions such as the acquisition or disposition of land. When my clients are faced with tough regulatory challenges, I represent them before the Canadian Energy Regulator (previously, National Energy Board) and the Canadian Transportation Agency.I also work closely with executives and governments on ESG issues, both in Canada and across the globe. As ESG norms emerge, I help my clients prepare for new business challenges and opportunities by developing and implementing ESG strategy and policy.Outside of Blakes, I regularly teach as a sessional lecturer at the McGill Faculty of Law, including courses on Environmental, Energy Law, Climate Change, and Corporate Social Responsibility.
