My diverse career has honed multifaceted skills, required to remain competitive in a competitive business environment.May 2000, my husband & I purchased a Bareboat Company "Charter Yachts (QLD) Pty Ltd" (CYA) at Coral Sea Marina, Airlie Beach (EST 1992) - comprising 8 GBRMPA Permits & a locally owned "time worn" fleet needing attention. Our joint business acumen & ability to work with all facets of the marine industry paid dividends, with CYA now recognised as a competitive & successful company, respected around Australia & the world.CYA currently own 25 GBRMPA Permits & manages yachts, sailing & power catamarans, all available for "Skipper Yourself Charters" around 74 Whitsunday Islands inside The Great Barrier Reef. We were the first Whitsunday Charter operator to attain Eco Tourism Accreditation in 2007, of which we are proud & incorporate through all our branding, policy and procedures. Kidsafe was first established in 1979 as the Child Accident Prevention Foundation of Australia (CAPFA). I worked in the educational house educating school groups, health professionals & new parents of the hazards around the home & environment. We collected qualitative data from Princess Margaret Hospital to develop strategies & programs present for legislative change to reduce the incident of accident & mortality to children up to 14 years old. This program has halved the number of child deaths and hospitalisations since incorporation. Injuries are the leading cause of death in Australian children aged one to fourteen, accounting for nearly half of all deaths in this age group.

Travelled solo overseas as a 19 year old commencing in Singapore & joining up with a Sundowner Bus in Kathmandu for a 92 day overland trip to London. Was the youngest onboard, and we were the last western bus to enter & exit Iran before the Shahs departure & full blown civil war commenced. Travelled extensively & independently across Europe & UK after this trip before returning back to Australia to live in Alice Springs NT 12 months & Port Lincoln SA 12 months before finally settling in Subiaco Perth in 1982. Sold a 1952 Ford Custom Line ex Ambulance to a long haired good looking fisherman before heading west only to be reunited with him again in 1983....all over 38 years ago and still blissfully married. Grand adventures and still enjoying the journey with my best friend.
