I co-managed a team of six creating a marketing plan for the Good Samaritan Clinic utilizing agile methodology. In creating this marketing plan I conducted analysis of the client business model, risk assessment, and SWOT analysis. We created a recommendation to increase the number of patients seen and the number of volunteer doctors without changes to the current budget. I also led weekly Scrum meetings to address progress and concerns with team as well as organized weekly status reports.

I mainly helped Accounts Receivable by filing paperwork, entering journals in the system, matching invoices and bills of lading, depositing checks, and releasing orders in the system. I also helped HR with payroll and e-verifying employees and Accounts Payable by organizing invoices. My goal was to gain skill in accounting and HR, which I did through the varied tasks I was given during my internship. I learned how to work with the operating system Guardian, how to do sales tax, how to balance and create journals, and I became qualified to e-verify new employees.

I helped run the Shipping department and assisted Sales with entering orders in the system. My primary goal was to create instruction manuals for the Shipping, Sales, and Accounting departments. I completed this project over the 3 months I worked for the summer. I wrote detailed manuals explaining each step of various processes these departments go through in Guardian for the orders. I also assisted shipping by entering and printing the information for 100s of stores during a rollout.

I helped staff in the congressional office with various tasks. My main project was to create a portfolio of Congressman Aderholt's district along with the other interns. This required researching county governments and compiling names and important information. I was also trained in giving tours of the Capitol. Through this internship I gained experience with government work and learned the ins and outs of a congressional office.

As an intern for the Turkish Coalition of America I helped with news, social media, research projects, and attended events around the city about international relations. I compiled pertinent news about different aspects of Turkish-American relations to send out around the office. I worked on research projects regarding current events that affect relations between Turkey and America so the Coalition could stay ahead of trends. I also attended many different panels and Congressional hearings related to Turkey to write reports for supervisors to read over. Another aspect of my internship was to ask my Congressman to join the Turkey Caucus, a bi-partisan platform for members of Congress to focus on US-Turkey relations and issues that concern Turkish Americans. Through this internship, I was able to gain an understanding of the operations of a non-profit and an understanding of minority lobbying in the government. I was able to meet and create relationships with many Turkish Americans.
