Yukon Mining Alliance (YMA), a strategic industry alliance of Yukon's leading exploration, development and mining companies, is focused on creating innovative capital attraction initiatives to promote Yukon's competitive advantages as a top mineral investment jurisdiction and its member companies and their Yukon-based project. As the Executive Director, I work with our member companies, investors, governments and partners to promote Yukon as a first class mining jurisdiction, developing established qualified companies in Yukon engaged in activities including advanced exploration, mine development, production and reclamation with known gold, silver, copper, nickel and PGM resources.All member companies must have identified resources and significant project expenditures in Yukon; as well as, adopt and adhere to a corporate sustainability policy including community relations, environmental responsibility and labour relations.

Yukon Women in Mining (YukonWIM) is a regional not for profit organization focused on creating awareness and attraction to the opportunities for rewarding careers for women in the mineral and mining industry. YukonWIM develops initiatives that foster personal and professional development, through awareness, education and networking opportunities.Vision: Through promotion of the dynamic and rewarding careers for women in the minerals and mining industry, YukonWIM will help to meet the future labour needs in Yukon. Mandate: To work with the Yukon mineral exploration and mining industry representatives to develop toolkits, events and activities to facilitate increased attraction, retention and advancement of women to one of the most important sectors in Yukon’s economy. YukonWIM Objectives:• To collaborate with WIM branches across Canada in sharing knowledge, best practices, and personal and professional development opportunities• To promote the minerals sector as a safe, valuable, high-tech, environmentally and socially responsible industry• To coordinate with other local non-profits, associations and organizations to help women connect with established professionals in industry and to help them navigate their way to a successful career in the minerals sector

Program Development, Coordination and Delivery: Employ the goals, objectives and standards of the National P.A.R.T.Y. Program, in the implementation and presentation of injury prevention materials for Grades 8-12 students in Yukon. Develop and improve presentation strategy and materials based on current statistics, trends and culturally relevant materials.Partnerships, Recruitment and Coordination: Develop and promote working partnerships with Yukon organizations and community agencies. Coordinate with Yukon schools for participation in Whitehorse and Yukon Community eventsand presentations. Recruit and coordinate all volunteer trauma professionals (i.e., EMS, Nurse, Doctors, RCMP) for events and presentationsFinancial management: Create and manage yearly budget, including the procurement and maintenance of all equipment and supplies.

Policy development and management: administering day to day operation of the organization, directing staff’s implementation of policyStrategic planning: conducting periodic needs assessments, setting specific organizational goals and outcomes, settinggoals for management practices, setting goals for program services and identifying the appropriate resources required to meet these goals. Visioning: participation in the creation of an organization vision, and development of proposals, programs that meet client and industry needs and reflect partnerships with Yukon First Nations LeadershipFinancial management and negotiation: developing, securing and managing the organization’s operating budget
