From being the quietest kid in elementary school, I never would have expected that I would choose to major in business in college. However, branching out and serving various leadership roles like team captain and ASB officer in high school helped me realize that I enjoyed being an effective contributor to my team. I loved to discuss and brainstorm ideas and see my thoughts with input from others come into fruition. Seeing my ideas benefitting others has always brought me a great sense of achievement. Finance can benefit everybody; this is why I love it and how I can help individuals/corporations reach further success. From starting to work in my sophomore year of high school to buying stocks in my Roth IRA account, I realized my passion for managing money. I recognized the importance of budgeting, saving and investing and enjoyed feeling in-control of my money as I started tracking my expenses using Excel and creating budgets for myself. Organization and attention to detail are my strengths, which is what initially drew me to finance. Life has taught me to be proactive and seek out all opportunities. As an out of state student coming into college not knowing a single person, this lesson has pushed me to be involved in my campus community, particularly in Merage.
