About Anneloes Van Staa
I trained as a general and paediatric nurse before graduating both in medicine and cultural anthropology (specialisation medical anthropology). From 1994-2016, I worked as an assistant professor in Erasmus University Rotterdam, Institute of Health Policy and Management. In 2003, I was appointed professor 'Transitions in Care' at Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences, Research Center Innovations in Care. My research focus is on patients’ lived experiences with chronic illness, patient participation in care, and self-management support (including shared decision making). I have extensive experience in mixed methods research, including participatory approaches with patients, professionals and students, and in project management of large research consortia. I (co-)authored over 70 peer-reviewed research papers. In 2019, I received the first Dutch Delta Award, a national prize of €500K for excellence in combining applied research, practice improvement, and professional education.Current research programs: (1) ‘On Your Own Feet’ (preferences and competencies of adolescents with chronic conditions in their transition to adulthood and adult care); (2) Self-management support of people with chronic conditions;(3) 'Vitale Delta' (vitality and health).https://orcid.org/0000-0003-4496-3207

CurrentIn the Expertise Centre 'Innovations in Care' we develop practice-oriented research. As professior Transition of Care, my main interest is in the transitions experienced by(young) people with chronic conditions when managing their life with a chronic condition. A specific field of interest is the social position of young people with chronic conditions when becoming an adult and transferring to adult care. Other research topics are related to transmural care and palliative care. Besides research, I was also programme leader of the Action Program On Your Own Feet Ahead - a quality improvement programme for transitional care. De Borstkanker Vereniging Nederland is een grote, actieve en professionele patiëntenorganisatie voor alle mensen (vrouwen en mannen!) die met borstkanker te maken hebben (gehad). Ik ben in november 2013 gekozen tot lid van het Bestuur met als profiel 'zorg algemeen'. Vanaf augustus 2014 was ik waarnemend voorzitter en op 30 mei 2015 ben ik gekozen tot voorzitter. Na 6 jaar kwam er statutair een einde aan mijn zittingstermijn.

I am member of the editing board and I was editor for the "Onderzoek in de Praktijk" section. This thesis reports on a large research program called On Your Own Feet exploring the preferences and competences for health care of young people with chronic conditions.

De bezoekgroep van Humanitas - afdeling Voorne Putten Rozenburg bezoekt de gedetineerden in de jeugdgevangenis de Hartelborgt Spijkenisse voor een direct contact 'van mens tot mens'. Sinds oktober 2013 heeft de bezoekgroep haar activiteiten moeten staken door het onvermogen van de directie van de Hartelborgt om het vrijwilligerswerk goed in te bedden in het primaire proces. Jammer dat de gedetineerde jongens daar de dupe van zijn!

HET ROTTERDAMS JONGENSKOOR bestaat al 55 jaar. Het werd in januari 1957 opgericht door dirigent Freek Velders. Sindsdien is het koor niet meer weg te denken uit het Rotterdamse muziekleven. Het bestaat uit jongens vanaf 6 jaar en zij staan bekend om hun muzikale veelzijdigheid, hun matrozenpakken en hun Scheepsbrug, de thuishaven bij de Erasmusbrug. Het koor zingt vooral klassiek repertoire.
