Having grown up in a family business, I became keenly aware of the challenges behind operating a website which successfully supported the sales and marketing goals of a small business. Many minor details merge together as a whole - much like a complex musical work - and missing one part of the whole undermines the entire website.My passion for web design stems from a desire to help other business owners fully utilize their websites to grow their own business, and alleviate the stress that comes from managing the many details which too easily distract from the core work of running a business: serving your customers to the best of your ability.Inspiration for my work comes largely from two sources: the natural world - growing up in the family nursery business, and from the development of my musical talents. Those early days of digging through the farm's warm, rich soil, and today's menagerie of scents wafting in from the summer vegetable and herb beds inspire my art with the vast wild tableau of the natural world.As a young adult searching out the direction my professional career was to take, I earned my Bachelor's degree in Vocal Performance. From the study of music and literature came a new understanding of the mystery, dignity, and raw emotion of classical art. After finding that the greatest satisfaction in my musical pursuits came from community-centered performances, still seeking a career bursting with creative expression, I discovered the field of Web Design.The symmetries and structure of music was excellent training for later pursuits in my formal education in design - particularly in regards to the mathematics and logic underpinning cleanly-written website code. The beauty and wildness of nature continue to serve as a reminder that creativity and attention to minor details enhance the formal structure - without distracting from the creation of an easily usable website to better connect with the customers you serve.
