I initiated The|Tides Duinlust; the first integrative health- and wellness care resort in the Netherlands that synergistically brought together a spa, private health club, integrative medical center, health food bar and 5 elements restaurant. By including an integrative medical center - combining the cutting edge of modern medicine with the safe and gentle qualities of natural medicine traditions from the East and the West - the resort was unique in offering diagnostics and individually tailored programs designed as part of comprehensive medical and wellness care strategies for mental and physical renewal and rejuvenation. As the founder and CEO I developed the resort in 10 years from the first concept to a well-respected business.

I have been the owner, leading force and long-term managing director of The Anglo-Dutch Institute for Oriental Medicine: Holland’s first college to train professional health care providers in all aspects of East Asian medicine. The school drew its faculty from the leading experts in the field from Asia, North America and all of Europe. I developed curriculum and teaching materials for the different modalities of East Asian medicine such as acupuncture, herbal medicine, nutrition, massage, gua sha and martial arts. I also established the Paul E. Gill Library, dedicated to this field, as well as an out-patient clinic for practical training of the institute's students. In order to raise public and professional awareness of emerging health care issues, at various times in my career I undertook to organize international conferences. The conferences significantly contributed to the raising of the overall profile of preventive health care, and Asian healing methods in particular, in the West.
