I started as an intern at Perimed in the R&D department, where I initiated an extracurricular project as part of my master's programme. During my project, I contributed to the development of a Laser Doppler probe for measuring Skin Perfusion Pressure, which is used to assess microcirculation. This involved conducting research, developing new testing methods, and collaborating with the project team to create new designs. Throughout this period, I not only improved my technical skills but also gained experience in requirement handling and deepened my understanding of the corporate culture within the MedTech sector. The Swedish work environment and collaborations with my colleagues made my time at Perimed very valuable and educational. After completing my internship project, I had the opportunity to continue working on this project during the summer, which I did with great enthusiasm.

During my master’s internship at the UMCG’s Department of Vascular Surgery, I developed a prediction model for assessing the success of endovascular repairs for abdominal aortic aneurysms. Using a statistical shape model derived from preoperative CT scans, I analyzed aortic shape variations to predict outcomes, advancing my skills in research, machine learning, and academic writing.
