Welcome on my LinkedIn-profile!In my opinion everyone has the right to live in good (experienced) health. Therefore I try to contribute to health (equity) via social determinants of health. In the past I contributed to this topic as a dietitian, and after an education in health science I contributed to this theme via diverse (research) projects in the area of (public) health and health promotion. To date, at the Dutch Kidney Foundation, my goal is to contribute to kidney health and a population with less kidney disease by preventing (further) kidney damage. Over 10% of the Dutch population has a chronic kidney disease. Due to underlying risk factors such as high blood pressure, bloodsugar and overweight and the aging population this will be a growing problem. Therefore prevention becomes more and more important. Early detection, improving primary care on chronic kidney disease and lowering the salt consumption and a healthy (food)environment are important means to prevent (further) kidney damage.Key themes are: prevention of chronic kidney disease, early detection, public health, health promotion, health inequalities/health equity, intersectoral health policy, social determinants of health, health literacy, participation, quality of life, quality instruments for health promotion and prevention.
