As the Executive Director of Schaumburg Township District Library, I oversee the operations and functions of one of the largest and busiest public libraries in Illinois, serving a district of 130,000 residents with a $17 million annual operating budget and a staff of over 200. I have been in this role since December 2019, after serving as the Deputy Director for two and a half years, where I assisted the Library Director in all aspects of library administration and management. With more than ten years of library leadership experience and a Master of Arts in Professional Writing, I have developed a range of competencies and skills that enable me to deliver creative, practical, and effective solutions for the library and its patrons. Some of these include strategic planning, change management, budget preparation, community outreach, program development, service standards, staff mentoring, and emerging technologies. I am passionate about creating a patron-focused environment that supports the library's vision, mission, and values, and that fosters equity, diversity, inclusivity, and transparency. I am also an avid learner and a strong advocate for all libraries and their funding needs.
